Presenting your MSA Board for 2020-21! We are so excited for this upcoming semester, and have high hopes for a great year - undeterred by COVID-related challenges! We plan to make the most of our time at Purdue (and online) with our fellow brothers and sisters and foster a stronger, inclusive community of Muslim Boilermakers, iA 🚂🖤💛 SWIPE: to find out all you need to know about our board members 🤩
P.S. this is Naseeha (VP + PR chair!)
ALHAMDULLILAH. We are so thankful that the Purdue community has been abundantly generous and firm in supporting this cause. The Prophet (SAS) said: "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." We wish peace, equality, and justice for our black brothers and sisters. We stand united. Their struggle is our struggle until we put an end to the oppression, together. This donation was the first step, we as a Muslims, will take to support the #blm movement. For more direct action resources, be sure to check the link in our bio ‼️
The Purdue MSA is proud to be part of the MSA Donation Coalition for BLM. We, alongside many other MSAs across the nation, are standing in solidarity with our black brothers and sisters by pledging to match donations we receive towards this cause. We look forward to making a difference for the black community and standing up to injustice as Allah commands us to do, inshallah.
"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor" - Desmond Tutu. The Purdue MSA stands in solidarity with #blacklivesmatter. We are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment on campus. From your brothers & sisters at Purdue MSA, Eid Mubarak! May Allah accept all our Duas and Ibadah from this Ramadan, iA. Although we can't all celebrate together, let's make the most of our quarantine Eid!! Stay tuned to see how Boilermakers truly celebrate 👀🔥
Sisters!! Tomorrow! Join us to reminisce another great year Alhamdullilah. Zoom link will be posted in our bio. Hope to see you there!
⚠️Calling all sisters: As part of our online initiative, Purdue MSA welcomes, rather encourages, you to join us nightly as we read one juz of the Quran. The recitation will be by Hafizah Naseeha Mohammed, a rising junior at Purdue. Since we are unable to listen to the Quran recitation during Taraweeh prayer, this is a good alternative to collectively finish an entire Quran! The first session will be after the first Maghrib of Ramadan, meaning THE NIGHT BEFORE THE FIRST FAST (either Thursday or Friday night based on the moon sighting, we will update you in the GroupMe and on Instagram). The first session will take place at 8:30 pm EST. Starting the second night of Ramadan, the recitation will start promptly at 6:30 pm iA. A new zoom link for this will be posted in the GroupMe and Instagram bio daily.
Please dm us if you have any questions! May Allah put barakat in our Ramadan!
ASAK everyone! We hope you are all doing well. In the midst of these unfortunate circumstances, Purdue MSA is starting an online initiative. Every Sunday at 5 pm EST we will host "Sawm Time to Ponder" #punintended - a zoom activity planned for anyone to attend. We invite you to socialize, learn, and reflect with us and your fellow Muslim community. This week we will begin Sawm Time to Wonder with a lively Ramadan Kahoot! The Kahoot will be followed by a discussion with Chaplain Sami about how to set goals and take advantage of this holy month. The zoom link will be posted in the GroupMe as well as the Instagram bio. Hope to virtually see you there!!
